Is Reincarnation In The Holy Bible?
It was prophesied in the Old Testament, the book of Malachi that Elijah would return to pave the way for the Lord Jesus
Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
In the Old Testament, Elijah had been taken up in a chariot of fire and didn't see death. 2nd kings 2:11And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, [there appeared] a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
Hebrew 9:27 the scripture says. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: so Elijah had to come back and die once.
Here in the next passage the angel Gabriel appears to Zachariah the high priest and tells him his wife is going to have a child name john who will have the spirit and power of Elijah. And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord. Luke 1:17
In the next passage Jesus had summoned Moses and Elijah from paradise where they were resting awaiting resurrection. In the Old Testament, Moses had already passed on so if Elijah appeared with Moses he had already passed on. John's beheading in the New Testament took place before the mt. of Transfiguration. Mathew 17:10 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come?11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things.12 But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.13 Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.
In the next passage, Jesus is talking about john the Baptist and refers to him as Elijah.
Mathew 11:11-14-11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.13 For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.14And if ye will receive [it], this is Elias, which was for to come.
Like Elijah, if God has another mission for us in the future we are taken up and later reincarnated as someone else to complete the mission.
